Ahh the 80s... Probably the most ground-breaking periods in video game history. Not only did it see the focus in genre innovation it also saw the birth of some of the most influential franchises.

World of Goo - You Name the Price
You're all probably thinking that this is some sort of joke. Well I suggest you have a look for yourselves. As the title suggests the physics puzzle-based game, World of Goo, is celebrating its birthday by having a sale where you as the consumer are in the position to pay however much you want for it.

First Showcase of Work
Damn, so knackered. Second lesson of Visual Design had us to go to an archway nearby to do some more single-point perspective work, so my fellow Game Art students should expect some new sketches to uploaded onto Facebook (don't worry those who aren't Game Artists at De Montfort, I plan to upload some samples here on the blog later). After the morning session got to watch an interesting documentary going over the topic of advancing technology and human interactions with it and possible future outcomes because of it.

Hooray for custom content! Anyways I included a tag search to make it easier to look for topics of a certain category (do look at the tags attached to the posts, it may save you from having to read a post you don't want to read). Oh yeah you probably noticed that some of my blog post are a tad bit short, well thats because I made each post show the first paragraph on the homepage to save space. Blast to the Past
I find it funny how the majority of consumers of today's saturated gaming market don't know about the origins of video games, heck even I'm no exception for my knowledge goes as far back as the early Atari home consoles. Now I don’t want to dive too deep into the history of video games, so I will just briefly talk about the very first video game.
