Leading the Way

Appealing visuals is always a bonus for a game. It has played an important role in making a game feel immersive and believable. Any time someone asks for the best looking game on the interwebs names of games with gob-smacking realistic visuals will always pop-up, one game in particular: Crysis. Now while the use of realistic graphics in a game can be lovely, it doesn't add to much if a whole bunch of others games also are boasting the use of realistic graphics. In situations like it is always nice to have a game that is visually unique and fresh, making it stand out amongst the rest.

Review: Space Inavders Extreme 2

I decided to do my game review in blog-post form for those who weren't around to see present on Wednesday or doesn't go my session. In any case I decided to review Space Inavders Extreme 2 just because it's unique and a less predictable choice than say Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2.

Getting my Act Together

Gah! I should have made this post a week ago. Anyway this post is to go over the topic of game designing. Alot of silly people use the term 'Game Design' instead of presentation and all sorts of confusing things happens as the discussion proceeds. Yarr! Microsoft Takes Action Against Pirates

With the topic of piracy flooding forums all over the interwebs, along with the recent arrest of MW2 pirate, Microsoft has taken matters into their own hands and brandished their axes to take out Xbox 360 pirates. Most users of modded Xbox 360s will discover that they will no longer have access to their HDD thus will not be able to use it in anyway. Besides that the pirates will not be able to access Xbox LIVE meaning no more game updates, XBLA titles, Netflix/Skyplayer, etc. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention no warranty?

It probably would've been kinder just to brick the consoles…

Ranked and Criticised

A majority of consumers always like to know about the product they about to purchase before going to the checkout. Many fear the situation that the moment they try to use the product it turns out it isn't what they had planned on purchasing or the product has flaws they weren't aware of, be it design or functionality. To avoid this many look at reviews, that way the consumers will be aware of anything undesired and let them have second thoughts about the product. In the gaming industry, reviews have a strong influence on how the market flows. Good reviews means good products and then those good products will then be purchased by consumers knowing that they have just purchased something worth buying. Simples right?
