This is no Zaku... No Zaku!

Hope y'all had a great Christmas and received a tonne of presents, I sure did :D. Anyway I just finished building one of the gifts I received from under the tree and it look gorgeous!

This is a 1/144 HG NZ-666 Kshatriya model (How does one pronounce that?) from the upcoming Gundam Unicorn which is set to be aired sometime next year in Japan. For those who are familiar with the Gundam mythos this is basically an upgrade of the NZ-000 Quin Mantha from Gundam ZZ. Despite being considerably smaller than its predecessor it still packs an equal amount of fire-power making it a formidable mech.

Even though its design looks menacing and tough, in reality it struggles to even stand up properly. The four binders (the big shields attached to the shoulders) are just too big and heavy making standing, let alone posing, a troublesome matter. If it had bigger and broader feet the model will probably stop falling due to its unbalanced weight distribution. For a 1/144 model kit Kshatriya is absolutely massive. Even without the binders it would still tower over most models, heck it's even taller than some 1/100 models (I'm looking at you God Gundam). Makes me wonder if Bandai will even consider releasing a 1/100 version of Kshatriya.

Anyways time to work my second model (did I forget to mention that I received more than one?), so look out for the next blog post. Hope everyone is having a good holiday and uses it well since it doesn't last forever.
