Hoo boy, where to begin... Time sure has flown by quickly, it's scary seeing how much work I have covered during the course. What surprised me was not the amount I have done but by how much I have improved. Seriously... I have learnt so much it bothers me, considering how I didn't progress very far in Art during 6th Form.
Getting used to 3DS Max at the begining of the year was a daunting task. To this day I'm still trying to grasp the basics of the evil programe. Doing the old 3D projects again like Heather and Mike suggested was good advice, like they said repeating the same project will see a slight improvement. Even if the improvements are small they are improvement none the less and the lastest version is alot better than the first attempt after several attempts. I'm not sure if asking for easier tasks would be helpful feedback, I mean it would be nice but having challenging tasks in a way does push students to try their hardest to get things right.
Actually now that I think about it I have a few complaints which I think needs looking into. Firstly we spent the entire year without any game production lectures. I didn't mind having missed a few at the begining of the year, but have none at all was quite dissapointing as I am sure they would have been useful if they were available. Next complaint goes to the fact that we didn't get a model for live drawing for a couple of weeks. While this isn't the entirely the staff's fault, some sort of back-up plan should have been available for such situations.
I feel quite bad after my nitpicks but there you go. As the first year comes to an end I now have to prepare myself for the grueling work that will be faced in the second year.
