A Glimpse Into the Future

I'll be honest, I have no clear vision of what I'm going to do after leaving university. To me the future is clouded and unpredictable, anything could happen and at the moment I'm not fully prepared to tackle it.

Before I even considered doing Game Art as a university subject I wanted to become an architect. As nice as the profession sounded I had to be realistic and tell myself that the chances of me being architect were slim, even if I had studied the subject for seven years at uni I still had to spend another thirty before having the chance to become a recognised architect. Thus I decided on Game Art since I thought it would be easier and more appropriate to my interests.

Of course having spent almost a year doing this subject I have learnt that getting a job after graduating this course is pretty damn difficult. The only way to get anywhere is to focus and work hard, there are no short-cuts in life. I am grateful that Mike, Chris and Heather has given the opportunity to study at De Montfort, it has certainly given me the chance to learn new things and I certainly won't regret choosing DMU over Staffordshire. As the famous Chinese saying goes, "Your teachers will show the door to success, it is up to walk through it."

To show that I have walked through that door, I'll have to really work and progress through the course. Like I said before, I'm not fully prepared for what the future holds for me now, however after completing the course I will have a better view before I plunge myself into it.
