The 'moe-blob' has come to haunt me again this spring eh?
Seeing that I haven't been chosen to have my formative assessments yet, I decided to go over something that I'm sure Mike will be pleased with (Mehehe...). It's only a few more days till the new series Spring has to offer air their first episodes. Out of the bunch, one particular series is beginning to annoy me as I am seeing a pattern emerging within the dark and evil realms of the current anime industry.
The 'moe-blob' virus that is K-On has selected this Spring to air a second season. While I don't anything against K-On I'm getting a bit annoyed with the amount of anime being made which are lacking any substance. First we had the Haruhi phenomenon, later the Lucky Star, now K-On plus a bunch of other imitators trying to cash-in on the 'moe-blob' frenzy. Now we have a market where the majority of current anime is lacklustre (though I guess Mike would say that would apply to all) and boring which surprisingly manages to generate money from stupid otakus who think that moe is good.
That aside there are also a bunch of oddballs here and there this season. First there's the Ironman anime which seems kind of awkward but seeing that the Japs can animate robots well this may not be such a bad thing. Next that caught my eye is the next Gundam series, which to my despair, has opted to go with Super-Deformed designs and base the story around The Romance of the Three Kingdoms. This is gonna be a rough Spring...
